How Hochi helps

Starting solids, stage by stage

Every idea fits your baby's age and stage, and every recipe tells you how to serve it today.

First tastes, then family meals

Smooth single foods first, vegetables before fruit and one new food at a time, then mashed meals with soft lumps, finger foods and toddler meals.

Iron first

Babies need iron from food from around 6 months. Each meal shows the iron, zinc, protein and vitamin C it gives, and ideas lean towards what your baby needs that day.

What to skip, built in

Choking risks, foods to wait for until 12 months and weekly limits such as oily fish are checked for you, in every idea and recipe.

Cook once, serve everyone

Easy recipes with step-by-step photos and timers. Take your baby's portion out before you season the rest for the family.

What's in the fridge?

Say or type what you have, and Hochi finds the closest recipes. With Hochi+, it creates a new recipe from your own foods.

The First Taste Trail

Stamp every first taste, keep a weaning journal and share each milestone with the people who love your baby.

Allergen introduction plan

New allergens, one at a time

Introducing common allergens early and keeping them in your baby's diet matters. Hochi makes the plan simple.

  • Egg, peanut, dairy, wheat, fish and more, one at a time with days in between
  • Three clear tries on different days, tracked for you
  • A gentle check-in about reactions after each first try
  • A logged reaction pauses that allergen until you've had medical advice
  • Tolerated allergens kept in your baby's week

Questions

Good to know

When should my baby start solid food?

Health services such as the NHS advise starting solid food at around 6 months. Hochi starts with smooth single foods, one new food at a time and vegetables first, then moves on to mashed meals, finger foods and family meals as your baby grows.

How does Hochi help with introducing allergens?

Hochi suggests common allergens such as egg, peanut, dairy, wheat and fish one at a time, with days in between, tracks each try and asks about reactions. A logged reaction pauses that allergen until you've had medical advice.

Purées or baby-led weaning?

Either, or a mix of both. Tell Hochi your baby's feeding stage and it serves every recipe to match: smooth, mashed, finger-length strips or small pieces.

Is Hochi free?

Hochi is free to download, with ideas for every meal, the allergen plan, the First Taste Trail and all its guidance. Hochi+ is an optional monthly or yearly subscription for unlimited recipes and up to 10 new recipes a day created from what's in your fridge.

What happens to my family's data?

Your journal is saved on your phone and, when you sign in, in your private account so it's there on a new phone. Meal photos stay on your phone. We don't sell data or show ads. Read the privacy policy.

Is Hochi medical advice?

No. Hochi gives general weaning information based on NHS, ASCIA and AAP guidance. It doesn't diagnose or rule out allergies. Always supervise your baby while eating, and talk to a health professional about allergies or feeding concerns.
